Chiller Replacement

BGI managed the full replacement of two York YMC2 magnetic bearing centrifugal chillers at the Tempe Center for the Arts, handling all materials, equipment, labor, rigging, piping, and associated work. With a one-year lead time and no price guarantee from the manufacturer, we proactively included a cost escalation allowance in the GMP to protect the project budget.  To ensure the uninterrupted operation of the facility, the chiller replacements were carefully phased, keeping one unit always running. This strategic scheduling allowed the TCA to remain fully functional throughout the replacement.
