KATHRYN B. “KATHY” CARTER, PRESIDENT & C.F.O
Kathy is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company and monitoring of bottom line performance. She collaborates with the Board of Directors to establish BGI’s strategic goals and sets the key policies and methods required to achieve those goals. Kathy is also actively involved in the marketing and business development aspects of the business. She believes the foundation of corporate good citizenship includes honesty, integrity, environmental sensitivity, personnel development, community involvement, and management of effective change to foster stability and profitability for the firm.
ROBERT D. “BOB” CARTER, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT & C.O.O
Bob has over 40 years of construction industry experience with involvement in all types of Project Delivery Methods including Construction Manager at Risk, Job Order Contracting, Design-Build as well as traditional Design-Bid-Build and the Negotiated Bid. Bob participates in and provides leadership on projects for public agencies, large institutional customers, major Industrial facilities and private clients. As Chief Operating Officer, Bob serves as the local point of contact for the corporation. He has overall responsibility for all projects undertaken by Builders Guild, Inc. and manages the resources and staffing for these projects. Bob brings to bear his extensive knowledge and experience with regard to all construction services including cost estimating, constructability analysis, GMP development, value engineering, material and equipment purchasing as well as partnering and communication with customers. He is committed to providing customers with whatever resources are required to achieve project goals and customer satisfaction. During construction, Bob’s prime responsibilities include off-site & on-site management and planning, budget and cost control, job cost accounting communication and reporting, monitoring and/or attending progress meetings, facilitation of the permitting process and coordination of project staffing. Bob believes in and upholds the corporate values of integrity, quality work, customer satisfaction, personnel training & development and profitability; values which have contributed to BGI’s many years of success in the construction industry.
ELLEN K. OSTRAND, CONTROLLER & CORPORATE SECRETARY
Ellen is responsible for compiling and maintaining the corporate records of Builders Guild, Inc. and overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Department. Ellen performs accounting duties related to budgeting, cash management, financial reporting, job cost and general accounting. Additional responsibilities include planning, coordinating and directing the implementation and administration of information technology to improve quality and productivity.
MARK E. ACRE, VICE PRESIDENT of HEALTHCARE CONSTRUCTION & PROJECT MANAGER
Mark provides the leadership for all healthcare construction and customer services. For more than three decades, he has specialized in healthcare construction, and his active involvement throughout design and construction serves as a valuable resource for innovative solutions to healthcare construction challenges. In an effort to stay abreast of current healthcare delivery methods, equipment, technology and the issues facing the industry, Mark is actively involved in the American Society for Healthcare Engineers (ASHE). Mark promotes a productive, team environment, and he is responsible for maintaining the high standards of Builders Guild, Inc. including quality and professionalism.
NICK NIKRANT, VICE PRESIDENT & PROJECT MANAGER
Nick’s strengths include more than 30 years of construction project management experience for many large private corporations and government agencies. The range of his experience on private campuses and facilities include power plants, semiconductor, communications, aerospace, medical, commercial, automotive and industrial projects varying from simple office remodels to complex multi-phase renovations, remodels and upgrades in active environments where customers rely on his ability to keep their businesses operational throughout the construction process.
In the public sector, Nick’s experience includes jails, courts, police and fire departments, 911 call centers, airports and water treatment facilities where public safety, security and crucial operations cannot be impacted by construction.
Nick has earned the respect of not only the customers he has worked with but also his peers in the industry because of his extensive experience, technical knowledge and professionalism.
LEON “PAT” MAXWELL, VICE PRESIDENT EMERITUS, SPECIAL PROJECTS
As Vice President, Pat provides management oversight for Builders Guild, Inc. in a variety of areas including Owner Contract review, Subcontractor Qualification and review, Dispute resolution, Regulatory review and compliance verification, Insurance reviews and verification, Bonding requirements and compliance, and Licensing reviews and compliance. Pat also works with members of our Estimating and Project Management Teams in the area of Project Buy Out and to ensure that the legal instruments such as insurance, bonds, contracts and subcontracts are properly suited to the Project delivery method.
